How to Post a Load

EZShip makes posting loads simple with our guided 4-step wizard. Here's everything you need to know.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • A verified shipper account
  • Freight details (weight, dimensions, commodity type)
  • Pickup and delivery addresses
  • Your target shipping date

Step 1: Freight Details

Click Post a Load from your dashboard or the Loads menu.

Required fields:

  • Load type — FTL (Full Truckload) or LTL (Less Than Truckload)
  • Commodity — Select from our list or type a custom description
  • Total weight — In pounds (lbs)
  • Equipment type — Dry van, flatbed, reefer, step deck, lowboy, etc.

Optional fields:

  • Dimensions — Length, width, height of freight
  • Piece count — Number of pallets, crates, or pieces
  • Special handling — Hazmat, fragile, temperature-controlled, oversized
  • Required certifications — TWIC, tanker endorsement, etc.

Step 2: Route & Schedule

  • Pickup location — Enter address or use the map pin
  • Pickup window — Date and time range for pickup

Step 4: Review & Publish

Review all entered information. You can save as a draft or publish immediately.

  • Schedule — Set a future date to publish

Managing Posted Loads

After posting, you can:

  • Edit — Modify details before a bid is accepted
  • Pause — Temporarily hide the load from carriers
  • Duplicate — Copy the load for repeat shipments
  • Cancel — Remove the load (before a bid is accepted)

Tips for Getting Better Bids

  1. Provide detailed and accurate freight information
  2. Set competitive target rates based on market conditions
  3. Allow a flexible pickup window when possible
  4. Respond quickly to bids and counter-offers
  5. Maintain a strong shipper rating by paying on time
