Your First Load: A Complete Walkthrough

Whether you're posting your first load as a shipper or bidding on your first shipment as a carrier, this guide walks you through the entire process.


For Shippers: Posting Your First Load

Step 1: Click "Post a Load"

From your dashboard, click the Post a Load button. You'll enter our guided 4-step wizard.

Step 2: Enter Freight Details

  • Load type — Full Truckload (FTL) or Less Than Truckload (LTL)
  • Commodity — What you're shipping (e.g., electronics, dry goods, machinery)
  • Weight — Total shipment weight in pounds
  • Equipment type — Dry van, flatbed, reefer, step deck, etc.
  • Special requirements — Hazmat, team drivers, liftgate, etc.

Step 3: Set the Route

  • Pickup location — Address, city, or zip code
  • Pickup date & time — Scheduled pickup window
  • Delivery location — Destination address
  • Delivery deadline — Required delivery date

Step 4: Set Your Price

  • Target rate — Your ideal price for the shipment
  • Accept bids — Enable carrier bidding for competitive pricing
  • Counter-offers — Allow carriers to negotiate

Step 5: Review & Post

Review all details and click Post Load. Your load is now live and visible to verified carriers.


For Carriers: Bidding on Your First Load

Step 1: Browse Available Loads

Go to Loads > Browse and use filters to find loads that match your:

  • Equipment type
  • Preferred lanes (routes)
  • Desired pickup dates

Step 2: Review Load Details

Click on a load to see:

  • Full freight details and requirements
  • Pickup and delivery locations (with map)
  • Shipper's target rate and rating
  • Estimated mileage and deadhead

Step 3: Submit Your Bid

  • Enter your bid amount
  • Add any notes or conditions
  • Specify your available equipment
  • Click Submit Bid

Step 4: Wait for Response

The shipper will review your bid and may:

  • Accept — You'll receive a notification and the load is assigned to you
  • Counter-offer — You can accept, decline, or counter again
  • Decline — You can bid on other loads

After the Load Is Booked

  1. Confirm pickup — Update status when you arrive at pickup
  2. Upload BOL — Scan the Bill of Lading
  3. Update in transit — Status updates along the route
  4. Confirm delivery — Mark as delivered and upload POD
  5. Get paid — Payment processed per your agreement terms
