This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the EZShip platform, including our website at shipio.app, mobile applications (iOS and Android), desktop application, and all related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you register for an account or use our Platform, we may collect the following information:
- Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, password, and profile photo
- Business Information: Company name, business address, business type (Shipper or Carrier), EIN/Tax ID
- Carrier-Specific Information: Motor Carrier (MC) number, DOT number, insurance certificates, operating authority documentation, vehicle information, and driver details
- Shipment Information: Load details (type, weight, dimensions), pickup and delivery addresses, scheduling information, and special handling instructions
- Financial Information: Billing address, payment method details, bank account information for payment processing, and transaction history
- Communications: Messages exchanged through the Platform, support inquiries, feedback, and survey responses
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Platform, we automatically collect certain information, including:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, browser type and version, screen resolution
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, actions taken, time and date of access, session duration, and interaction patterns
- Location Data: With your consent, we collect GPS location data from mobile devices to enable real-time shipment tracking, route optimization, and location-based load matching. You can disable location services through your device settings.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, referring URLs, and crash reports

2.2 Communication

To facilitate transactions, we share relevant information between Shippers and Carriers, including company name, contact information, load details, bid amounts, and shipment status. This is necessary for the core functionality of the Platform.
3.2 Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:
- Cloud hosting and data storage providers
- Payment processing companies
- Identity verification and background check services
- Email and push notification delivery services
- Analytics and monitoring tools
- Customer support platforms
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
3.3 Legal and Regulatory
We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or government regulation, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
3.4 Business Transfers

Transaction records and shipment data are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years as required by federal transportation and tax regulations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

You can opt out of promotional emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any promotional email. Note that you cannot opt out of transactional communications related to your account and active shipments.

You can enable or disable location services through your mobile device settings. Disabling location services may limit certain Platform features such as real-time tracking.
6.4 Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at sales@myfreightconnect.com. We will process your request within thirty (30) days, subject to our retention obligations for legal and regulatory compliance.
6.5 State-Specific Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act). These may include:

- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (EZShip does not sell personal information)

9. International Users
EZShip operates in the United States and our Platform is designed for use within the 50 US states. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date.
