Accepting Loads and Updating Status

When your bid is accepted, here's how to manage the shipment from pickup to delivery.

When Your Bid Is Accepted

You'll receive:

  • Push notification — Instant alert on your mobile app
  • Email confirmation — With load details and shipping contract
  • Dashboard update — The load appears in your "Assigned Loads" section

Reviewing the Assignment

Before heading to pickup, confirm:

  • Pickup address, date, and time window
  • Delivery address and deadline
  • Freight details (weight, commodity, special requirements)
  • Rate confirmation and payment terms
  • Shipper's contact information

Updating Shipment Status

Use the mobile app or web dashboard to update status at each milestone:

1. En Route to Pickup

  • Tap En Route when you leave for the pickup location
  • The shipper can now track your location

2. Arrived at Pickup

  • Tap At Pickup when you arrive
  • Upload the Bill of Lading (BOL) after loading

3. Loaded / In Transit

  • Tap Loaded once freight is on your truck
  • Tap In Transit when you depart the pickup location
  • GPS tracking is now active for the shipper

4. At Delivery

  • Tap At Delivery when you arrive at the destination
  • Contact the receiver for unloading instructions

5. Delivered

  • Tap Delivered once freight is unloaded
  • Upload the Proof of Delivery (POD)
  • Get delivery receipt signed digitally

Document Uploads

At each stage, you may need to upload:

  • BOL — Bill of Lading (at pickup)
  • Photos — Condition of freight at pickup and delivery
  • POD — Proof of Delivery (at delivery)
  • Accessorial receipts — Detention, lumper fees, etc.

Reporting Issues

If you encounter problems:

  • Delays — Update your ETA and notify the shipper
  • Damage — Document with photos and report immediately
  • Refusal — Contact EZShip support if delivery is refused
