Push Notifications Not Working
Push notifications keep you updated on bids, counter-offers, and shipment status. Here's how to fix them.
iOS Troubleshooting
Check Notification Settings
- Open Settings > Notifications > EZShip
- Make sure Allow Notifications is ON
- Enable Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners
- Set alert style to Persistent for important alerts
Check Focus Mode
- If using Focus/Do Not Disturb, add EZShip as an allowed app
- Settings > Focus > [Your Focus Mode] > Apps > Add EZShip
Check Background App Refresh
- Settings > General > Background App Refresh > EZShip > ON
Android Troubleshooting
Check Notification Settings
- Settings > Apps > EZShip > Notifications
- Enable Show notifications
- Check that important categories are enabled (Bids, Shipments, Messages)
Battery Optimization
- Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization
- Find EZShip and select Don't Optimize
- This prevents Android from killing the app in the background
Check Do Not Disturb
- Make sure Do Not Disturb is off, or add EZShip as an exception
In-App Notification Settings
- Open EZShip app
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Make sure desired notification types are enabled:
- New bids on your loads
- Counter-offers received
- Bid accepted/declined
- Shipment status updates
- Messages
- Payment updates
Testing Notifications
After adjusting settings:
- Ask a team member to send you a test message
- Or post a load and watch for bid notifications
- Check that notifications appear on lock screen AND in-app
Still Not Receiving Notifications?
- Log out and log back in to refresh your push token
- Reinstall the app
- Contact support with your device type and OS version
